Moose Lodge and Elk Cabin are situated in the centre of the mountains of Skanland, an area covering both Sweden and Norway. Moose Lodge and Elk Cabin are conveniently situated for all kinds of winter and summer sports, in the midst of spectacular scenery. In the middle of a rural wilderness apparently untouched by modern commercialism, yet within easy reach of Sälen and Trysil tourist centres. Despite this they are easily reached, with Oslo (Gardermoen) Airport only 2 hours away, Oslo itself 3 hours, Stockholm 5 hours and Gothenburg 6 hours. The ski resorts of Sälen and Trysil are within a 12 minutes to 35 minutes drive away, catering for all levels of skiing ability. Swedish and Norwegian resorts have the relaxing lack of commercialism missing from the Alps. These resorts cater for the whole family with prices to match. Our House and Cabin are situated near the village of Rörbäcksnäs which is more of a traditional swedish village rather than the sports/holiday cabin villages up on the mountain nearer to the resorts. There are several advantages to this location, the houses are spacious and well separated, wildlife is less disturbed, scooters are welcome and usable from the house plus the local facilities (shop etc.) are available year round not just during the summer and winter tourist seasons.

The properties are extremely spacious and a comfortable 'home from home', we also have a cot should you should require it. We do ask that you refrain from smoking inside the house and cabin. The veranda has a heater and is covered with mosquito netting, it is therefore well protected from wind you may smoke there.

Wildlife abounds, if you are lucky you might just catch sight of beaver, moose or lynx. Their signs are all around, with beaver gnawed trees down by the stream.

A regular visitor last summer was the red squirrel, which visited the bird table just outside the kitchen window Spectacular Scandinavian scenery starts from the door of the house and cabin, with pine woods on 3 sides, together with a small river just metres away. The ever changing scenery makes a stay in the Dalana Hills a pleasure both summer and winter. The river is especially attractive all year round. We have also constructed a Barbeque and seating area down by the river. Perfect for relaxing after a day's skiing or trekking, to the soothing sounds of flowing water.

If you are travelling from abroad the closest airport is Oslo Gardermoen (2.5 hours away), some airlines fly to Oslo Torp, which will take an extra 3 hours or so driving. Otherwise International flights also fly to Stockholm approx 5 hours away and Gothenburg approx. 6 hours away.

The 5 month winter sport season starts in December and continues to the end of April. Peak Season is New Year, February, March and Easter.
